Octavia Waight Home for the Elderly

Octavia Waight Center started in 1984 is located in San Ignacio Town Cayo. Thee home currently serves thirty-four senior citizens with shelter, food accompaniment, and love. There are seven care attendants and supervisors who make sure that all residents are kept in optimum health and active as much possible.

Billy White Preschool

Billy White Preschool has been in operation for the past three years. They currently have twenty-seven kids enroll, eighteen of which are four years and 9 three year old.

Bird Rescue

Founded in 2004, Belize Bird Rescue (NGO) operates under license and support from the Government of Belize Forest Department, and is Belize's only multi-species avian rescue and rehabilitation center.

February  

Gift of Life Belize    

Gift of Life Belize works with its’ partners to identify patients, doctors, and the facilities that are willing to accept these cases at a nominal fee. They facilitate the travel, including passports, visas, and airfare. They establish boarding and lodging for each young patient and the accompanying parent or guardian. In-country semi-annual clinics are hosted to accurately diagnose and prioritize patients. This ensures adequate treatment through prescription for even those who will not require corrective procedures and follow-up treatment for each post-surgery patient. Over a hundred patients are seen each year in these clinics. At least fourteen travel abroad within a year to undergo the necessary procedures to correct their life-threatening cardiac conditions.

San Ignacio Cayo Deaf Institute

This is a boarding school in the Cayo District for deaf children from across Belize. This school term started Sept 6, with twenty-two students. Two additional students were enrolled. A 6 year old boy, and a 14 year old girl who had almost no schooling until they came here this year.

Liberty Children’s Home

Liberty Children Home is for more than forty abused, abandoned, and neglected children, some of whom also have special needs or suffer from HIV or AIDS. It offers a safe and loving environment that aims to go beyond providing food and shelter. We provide a supportive, nurturing and stable place where children feel respected and confident that they will be cared for.

ACES

ACES is a non-profit organization permitted by the Belize Forest Department and dedicated to the conservation of Belize's critical wetland habitats and protected species through scientific research and education to preserve wildlife for future generation.

Saga Humane Society   

The Saga Humane Society was founded in 1999, primarily to monitor and control the cat and dog populations on Ambergris Caye through assisted cost spay/neuter and adoption, humane education program. Saga improves the general health and well-being of the domestic and wild animals.

JULY 

HelpAge Belize  

HelpAge Belize provides a service to older people in Belize through a variety of activities that include home care visiting to sick and infirm older persons to carry out limited medical care. 

August 

Mary Open Doors

Mary Open Doors is a non-profit organization specializing in shelter for women and children affected by domestic violence. Empowering and improving the wellbeing of those affected by domestic violence in the Cayo District by providing a safe shelter, support, and domestic violence education. Mary Open Doors provides services without regards to race, gender, ethnicity, national origin, age or religion.

Corner Foundation Belize

Corner Foundation is a community development organization dedicated to improving the lives of youth and adults in Santa Elena and San Ignacio. They offer programs that empower individual and better the community through education, awareness and support.

Arms of Love Preschool Cayo

Arms of Love Preschool Cayo has a total of thirty students 18 four years and 12 three years old.
